Vehicle configuration service

CCF Editing and Vehicle Configuration

JLR CCF editing updates supported vehicle configuration only after the fitted hardware, software and requested outcome are verified.

Vehicle configuration service

CCF editing changes the approved configuration data that tells compatible Jaguar and Land Rover control modules which equipment and settings the vehicle uses. It can support correctly installed retrofits, replacement-module setup, market changes and selected convenience features.

What is a JLR Central Configuration File?

The Central Configuration File, usually shortened to CCF, is a structured record of the vehicle specification. It helps connected modules understand the fitted equipment, market, feature settings and the messages they should exchange. A configuration mismatch can cause warning lights, lost functions, communication faults or a replacement module that does not operate as intended.

Editing the CCF is not the same as ordinary fault-code clearing. The original file should be saved first, the proposed change checked against the vehicle hardware and the complete vehicle scanned again after programming.

What CCF editing can be used for

Feature configuration

Enable or adjust supported settings when the necessary hardware, modules and software are already present.

Replacement modules

Configure a compatible replacement BCM, RFA or other supported module to match the vehicle specification.

OEM and approved retrofits

Update vehicle configuration after compatible cameras, tow equipment, infotainment or other hardware has been correctly installed.

Regional settings

Correct supported market, unit and regional configuration after a vehicle is imported or its intended market changes.

Configuration diagnosis

Compare the stored specification with fitted equipment when warnings or functions suggest a configuration mismatch.

Backup and restoration

Retain the starting configuration and restore it when a change is unsuitable or does not produce the expected result.

All CCF editing services

The complete service catalogue is listed below. Availability varies by model, model year, control-module part number, software level, market and fitted equipment. Every requested function is checked against the individual vehicle before any configuration change is agreed.

Hardware and safety systems come first.

CCF editing cannot create a camera, radar, antenna, seat motor or control module that the vehicle does not have. Safety and driver-assistance functions must never be enabled unless every required component is fitted, compatible, calibrated and operating correctly.

Our CCF editing process

  1. Identify the vehicleConfirm the VIN, exact model, model year, market and requested outcome.
  2. Run a pre-scanCheck battery condition, module communication, existing warnings and complete fault-code suffixes.
  3. Verify the hardwareConfirm the relevant modules, sensors, wiring and software support the proposed configuration.
  4. Back up the original CCFSave a recoverable copy before changing any parameter.
  5. Apply controlled changesEdit only the agreed vehicle-specific settings and program them using stable voltage support.
  6. Validate the vehicleRescan all modules, test the affected function and record the completed configuration.

Compatible Jaguar and Land Rover models

CCF work may be available across supported Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover platforms, including selected XE, XF, XJ, F-TYPE, E-PACE, F-PACE, I-PACE, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Velar, Discovery, Discovery Sport and Defender models. Compatibility is confirmed from the individual vehicle rather than model name alone.

What to send with your enquiry

  • Registration and VIN where available
  • Jaguar or Land Rover model and model year
  • Your postcode and whether the vehicle is mobile
  • The feature, retrofit or module you want configured
  • Part numbers for fitted or replacement hardware
  • Any warning messages and full DTCs, including suffixes
  • Details of recent module, wiring, battery or retrofit work

Frequently asked questions

Can every hidden feature be enabled?

No. The vehicle must contain compatible hardware, modules and software. We confirm support before any configuration is changed.

Will CCF editing remove a dashboard warning?

Only when an incorrect or incomplete configuration is the proven cause. Electrical, network, hardware and calibration faults still require diagnosis and repair.

Can you configure a replacement module?

Selected compatible modules can be configured to the vehicle, but part number, security status, software and programming requirements must be checked first.

Is the original configuration saved?

Yes. A backup-led process is essential so the starting CCF is retained before controlled changes are made.

Can CCF editing support a retrofit?

It can complete the configuration stage of a compatible retrofit after the correct hardware, wiring and any required calibration have been completed.

What happens after the edit?

The vehicle is rescanned and the affected functions are tested. Any new warning or communication fault is investigated before handover.
