Diagnostics

Specialist Jaguar and Land Rover diagnostics using full DTC suffixes, all-module scans, live data and evidence-led testing.

A diagnostic trouble code is the beginning of a test plan, not proof that the component named in its description has failed. Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles use interconnected engine, transmission, chassis, body, security and telematics modules. One low-voltage event can produce faults across several systems.

Our diagnostic method

  1. Confirm the customer complaint and exact dashboard wording.
  2. Test battery condition, charging performance and main supplies.
  3. Run a complete all-module scan using JLR-capable equipment.
  4. Save full codes, suffixes, status, freeze-frame and module identity.
  5. Check technical information for the exact model, year and powertrain.
  6. Compare commanded and actual live data.
  7. Test wiring, connectors and components before replacement.
  8. Verify the repair and confirm codes do not return.

Why the suffix matters

C1A20-64 contains more diagnostic information than C1A20. Failure-type suffixes can identify plausibility, missing messages, circuit problems or internal module failures. Never discard them when requesting help.
